Areas of Interest
Professor Wang’s research focuses on using computational techniques to solve engineering fluid dynamics problems and study the underlying flow physics. In particular, he employs high-fidelity simulation methods including large-eddy simulation (LES), direct numerical simulation (DNS), and hybrid RANS/LES approaches to obtain detailed descriptions of turbulent flows, with applications to flow-generated sound (aeroacoustics and hydroacoustics), flow-induced optical aberrations (aero-optics) and flow control. He also develops mathematical models and numerical techniques for computational fluid dynamics and aeroacoustics.
