Patrick Brewick
Assistant Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences
Areas of Interest
Patrick Brewick’s research focuses on exploring the connections between data analytics, modeling, and mechanics.
His research tackles the challenge of turning measurements into useful, informed models that accurately reflect the behavior and characteristics of the physical system while also incorporating the material uncertainties, behavioral nonlinearities, and noisy or incomplete measurements.
This work has applications in health monitoring of both traditional civil infrastructure and marine structures, Bayesian model selection and calibration, and computational modeling of heterogeneous material systems, e.g., polycrystalline microstructures.
