Prof. Dowling’s research combines chemical engineering, computational optimization, and uncertainty quantification to enable principled molecular-to-systems engineering of sustainable energy and environmental technologies.
Applications areas include energy markets and infrastructure, carbon sequestration, shale gas utilization, and advanced separations (membranes, ionic liquids).
